The work, project by project.
Some we funded. Some we supplied. Some we turned up and built. Most were more than one of those. The figures below trace to a filed return, a bank record or a partner's own confirmation — the supplies and the labor are described but not counted, because we have never counted them well enough to publish.
Escuela Altos del Roble
— our first and largest project, and the whole of our charitable spending that year. Money and supplies both went to the school: our markets ran a wish-list drive and sent 162 gifts of supplies and equipment, and our people spent a working day there on 9 May.
Bright Horizon School
raised for a jungle gym, painting supplies, replacement school supplies and garden supplies — and a team on site to put them in. Volunteers painted, planted and built during a single day's work.
Mirror Foundation — flood recovery
to the Disaster Fund by Mirror Foundation after flooding across northern Thailand. This one was a grant rather than a build: their volunteers were already stationed in Thoeng, Mueang and Mae Sai, cleaning and repairing flooded homes, and the fastest useful thing we could do was pay for it.
Love 21 Foundation
A gift toward inclusion and sport programs for people with Down syndrome and people who are autistic. Our people in Hong Kong took part on the day — Zumba and circuit training, built so that everybody could do it together.
We publish this figure when the 2024 return is filed. At least US$10,000 went out; we will not print a smaller number we know to be incomplete.
Volcanes Kids
a supply drive, and a day of work. Volunteers painted the classrooms, organized the food storage, replaced the school supplies, fitted blackout curtains so the children could sleep, and built a retaining wall.
This list is still being completed
Our records were kept across several systems and several people, and we are still assembling the full account of what the Foundation has funded. We would rather publish a short list that is accurate than a long one that is not, and we will add to it as each project is confirmed.
Before the Foundation
UCare began as a giving program inside New U Life in 2020, several years before the Foundation was incorporated. That work happened and it mattered. It belongs to the company rather than to this Foundation, so we do not claim it here.
